The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hmmm, how about a contest to celebrate the HD remake? Only if we have the club population and prizes for it, though. The deadline could be three months -- ending the day or week of the release.
Maybe given a theme, like 'renewal', akin to Ammy's powers and the HD remake being a renewel in itself? And no previously-existing deviations, just ones made for the contest.

I don't think we'll do a contest or anything of the sort before some times...
We three admins lack of time to give away art prizes and we don't have any points or money...
Last year we held something to celebrate Okamiden, but 5 persons cheated us and now we need to draw pictures for those 5 persons who didn't get their art, which is taking time because we also have our personal to-do-list and life

Until the five owed pictures are done, we won't held any event of the sort... I'm sorry, though I loved your idea and thank you for the suggestion

What we did was like a secret santa, someone draws something for you and you draw something for someone else. Those people gladly took the art done for them but never did their part so we were quite disappointed by their behaviour and frustrated

Hmm, maybe the news article should be updated to include the link? I bet there's heaps of people who'll be raging at the download-only thing, and many of those who don't know about the disc version.
Keep in mind: PS3 games are region-free, so no qualms about it not working inter-regionally! The only issue is it being in Japanese, and given the nature of the game, that would probably make it even better, actually.
